If my child is sick or going to be late,
what should I do? |
| When your child will be absent or tardy please remember to call
the school at 599-5832 by 9:00 AM to let the office know. If you get
the answering machine, just press #2 for absences and leave your child’s
name, teacher’s name and the reason they are going to be absent
or tardy. |

| My child will be a new student at West
Vine. How do I register?

| Come to the school to pick up a registration packet. Be sure when
you register that you have proof of residency such as an electric
bill, mortgage agreement, or lease. If you would like to, call in
advance and we can arrange a tour for you. |

What time does school get out on a half-day
? |
| Kindergarten sessions are AM: 8:55 - 10:55 and PM: 11:10 - 1:10.
For grades 1 and 2 school gets out at 1:10 PM on regularly-scheduled
half-days (such as conference days). Please check local television
and radio stations for school cancellations or early dismissals due
to inclement weather. Broadcast announcements begin at 6:30 AM. |

| How do I get to West Vine
Street School?

| From I-95 South: Take Exit 92. Take
a left at end of exit ramp onto Route 49 and continue for 1.3 miles
to traffic light. Take a left onto Route 2 and continue 1.25 miles.
Take a left onto West Vine Street. |
| From I-95 North: Take Exit 92. Take
a right at end of exit ramp onto Route 2 and continue 1.9 miles. Take
a left onto West Vine Street. |

What is the Parent Involvement Compact? |
| As part of the federal act No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
schools across the nation have been required by law to develop
agreements with parents to ensure that all students meet with success
as they move through the grades toward graduation from high school.
These agreements are called Parental Involvement Compacts. For additional
